What to do if your card is expiring

When your card is expiring soon, log into your N26 account and go to the Cards tab. Look for a banner under your card and follow the steps to confirm where you'd like to get your replacement. We'll send it to you once you confirm.

If you don't see the banner yet, your card still has some time left. The option to confirm your address will appear when the time is right. Before you reorder, make sure all your personal details are correct and up to date in the app.

Once your new card arrives, activate it before you use it. Destroy your old card and dispose of it according to your local recycling guidelines. Also update your payment details for all subscriptions and recurring payments to prevent future payments from being declined.

Using your card after it expires

You can't use it after the expiration month ends. Your replacement card comes with a different card number and a new expiration date.

How much does a replacement card cost

Replacement cards are free for all N26 Smart, Go, and Metal customers.

If you opened your account before the dates below, both the new card and shipping to your address are free within the countries where N26 is available:

  • 16/02/2021 — Greater Europe
  • 25/02/2021 — Italy and Spain
  • 11/03/2021 — France
  • 18/03/2021 — Germany, Austria, and Switzerland

If your account was created after these dates, the replacement card costs the same as ordering a brand new card.

How long does delivery take

All replacement cards ship by standard delivery. It takes up to 15 business days and is free. In rural or harder-to-reach areas, it can take longer. To track delivery progress, go to the Home tab in your N26 app.

What to do if your replacement card does not arrive

If you already confirmed your address and more than 20 days have passed, ask for a specialist in the support chat.

If you haven't confirmed your address yet, log into your N26 account in the app and look for a banner under your expired card. Follow the steps to confirm where you'd like to get your replacement.
