I wasn’t approved for my loan, but my account was still debited

Before approving a loan, credit agencies will perform a check to verify your creditworthiness. To do this, an authorization hold is often charged to your card— generally equivalent to the first monthly installment of the requested loan.

Because installment payments from third-party credit organizations aren’t possible with an N26 debit card, you may be rejected for your loan despite the transaction showing up on your account.

The good news is that the amount in question won’t actually be debited to your card, despite appearing on your transaction list in the N26 app. The charge will expire within 12 days and the amount on the hold will be automatically refunded.

If you don’t receive the money back, please contact our Customer Support as soon as possible.
