What is a N26 Flex account?

Our N26 Flex account is neither an N26 Standard nor premium membership account. We offer you the Flex account if your SCHUFA credit score isn't sufficient for you to open an N26 Standard account.

You cannot select the N26 Flex account yourself. It will be visible to you before you open your account and the decision of offering you the Flex account is taken automatically based on your SCHUFA credit score, which we receive from SCHUFA when you try to open your account with us.

Before accepting your Flex account, if you think we haven't considered your correct SCHUFA credit score and want to have a human review of this automated decision, you can get in touch with us by email to support@n26.com (new tab) from the email address you signed up with requesting a review of the decision. However, we can't guarantee a positive result after the human review. Please note, we can only discuss account-related matters from an email address registered to your N26 account sign-up process

Once you reach out to us, we can let you know if your SCHUFA credit score was the reason for offering you the Flex account. You can then contact SCHUFA regarding your SCHUFA credit score, in case you want to confirm with SCHUFA if your credit score correctly reflects your creditworthiness.

We will only be able to offer you an N26 standard (new tab) account or a premium membership (new tab) account once your SCHUFA credit score is updated to a higher score. You can then try again and see if we can offer you an N26 standard (new tab) account or a premium membership (new tab) account.

Please note:

The N26 Flex account cannot be combined with an N26 Business, N26 Business Smart, N26 Business You, N26 Business Metal, N26 Smart, N26 You or N26 Metal account.

Fees:

  • The N26 Flex account has a monthly fee of €6. You will be informed about the monthly fee before opening your account and we will debit this fee directly from your account. The first fee will be debited once your account balance reaches at least €6 or after 15 days, whichever happens first, and then monthly after that.
  • Cash withdrawals at ATMs (whether in Euro or in another currency) or one of our 9,000 CASH26 (new tab) partner stores each cost €2. Both withdrawal types are debited immediately.
  • There is a 1.5% transaction fee on debit card purchases in a foreign currency.
  • The standard account fees apply otherwise.
