What is a Proof of Address?
When you open a new account in France, N26 will ask you to provide a proof of address. This document is necessary to prove your address and is a legal requirement.

How do I provide my proof of address document?
During the process of your new account opening, you’ll be asked to submit this document through your N26 app directly.
You can upload it from your photo library, take a picture of the document or upload it in PDF format.
Which documents are accepted?
Several documents may be accepted as proof of address.
You can provide one of the following documents:
- Monthly bills or rent receipt (less than 3 months old or yearly bill from the last year) :
- Utility bill (gas, electricity, water, TV, internet box and landline bills)
- Mobile phone bill (from Orange, SFR, Bouygues, Free...)
OR
- Tax notice/declaration from the previous tax year
- Housing document issued in the last 1 year
- Rent receipt aged less than 3 months (from a social organization or a real estate agency) or rental contract aged less than a year
- Proof of home insurance issued less than a year ago
- Health insurance certificate (Mutuelle) for the current year
- CAF statement or certificate aged less than a year that shows a housing-related allowance
Please note that proof of accommodation is not considered as valid proof of address for opening an N26 account.
Please carefully check the validity date of your documents and note that it must be in good condition and easily readable.
