What is Wero and how do I use it?
Wero is an instant payment service created by the European Payments Initiative. It lets you send and receive money in real time across participating European banks using a phone number or email instead of an IBAN.
Wero is currently available to customers who opened their account in France (with a DE or FR IBAN) or in Germany. All other markets are excluded for now.

You can set up Wero directly in the N26 app:
- In the Home tab, select ‘Send’, the ‘+’ icon, and then ‘Wero’.

What happens if I lose my phone?
Wero is integrated into your N26 account. If you lose your phone:
- Block your N26 access immediately using the app or on web.
- Contact Support if needed.
Blocking your account also secures your Wero access.
Why did my Wero payment fail?
A Wero payment can fail for several reasons:
- Insufficient funds: There is not enough money in your account
- Transfer limits: You have reached your daily Wero limit of €2,500.
- Unsupported bank: The recipient’s bank is not part of the Wero network.
I sent money to the wrong person. Can I cancel it?
Wero payments are instant and cannot be canceled.
Before confirming a payment, always check the recipient’s name in the app. If you send money to the wrong person, you need to contact the recipient directly to request a refund.
Why can’t I link my phone number?
Your phone number may already be linked to Wero through another bank. To use it with N26, you must first unlink it from the other bank’s Wero service and then link it again in your N26 app.
What are the fees and limits for Wero?
Sending and receiving money with Wero between individuals is free on N26.
Your Wero limit is €2,500 per day in total. Your N26 instant transfer limits also apply. You can view or adjust your limits in the app by going to your profile in the Home tab and selecting ‘Instant transfer limits’.
