Log in with two-factor authentication

N26 requires two steps to log in. Which steps you follow depends on whether you use Keyless.

If you use Keyless: Open the N26 app, enter your email and password, then complete a biometric face scan. Once the scan succeeds, you have full access to your account — no SMS or push code needed.

If you don't use Keyless: Log in with your email and password on the web or on a non-paired device. Then confirm the push notification on your paired device. If you can't do that, request an SMS code to your registered phone number to confirm your login.

What you need before logging in

Make sure your phone's operating system and the N26 app are both up to date. This is required for two-factor authentication to work.

If you can't log in but still have access to your registered email address, try changing your password to restore access.

If you don't have access to your registered email address, ask for a specialist in the support chat to help resolve the issue.

What to do if you forgot your password

You can reset your password at any time. Follow the steps in how to change your password.

What to do if your phone is lost or broken

If you've lost access to your paired device but still have access to your registered phone number, you can log in through the N26 web app and use an SMS code instead.

1. Log in on web with your email and password.

2. When prompted to confirm on your paired device, select Didn't get a notification?, then select Still having issues?

3. On the Try another method screen, select Send SMS code.

4. Enter the SMS code on the confirmation screen.

Once you enter the code, you've completed two-factor authentication. You can now pair your new device with your account.

What to do if you have a new phone number or can't receive SMS

If you don't have access to your registered phone number, for example because you have a new number or your phone was lost or stolen, ask for a specialist in the support chat to help resolve the issue.

What to do if your phone can't update to the latest app version

If your phone doesn't support the latest version of the N26 app, you can no longer access your account through the mobile app on that phone.

You can still access your account on the web using a one-time password. This is a 6-digit code we send to your registered phone number. Card payments and cash withdrawals work as normal with your debit Mastercard. You won't be able to make bank transfers or payments until you can confirm them in the app.
