How to make N26 my main account?

We can help make N26 your main account by moving your daily banking from another account: we’ll inform any payment partners who charge recurring direct debits (like for your monthly subscriptions or bills) or who transfer money to your account (such as your employer), and we’ll explain how to set up standing orders or transfer any remaining funds over.

There are three ways to switch your bank accounts over to N26:

Together with our partner Qwist GmbH (new tab) we’re offering you a platform to easily switch your bank accounts online. It’s an automated process and completely free. Log into your N26 mobile app and tap on My account > Switch to N26. Tap Start now and follow the instructions.

Alternatively, you can use our form (new tab) and log in with your previous bank account details. Once you’ve filled in all required information, it’ll take 5 to 7 business days for us to send out all notification letters. Your payment partners may need additional time to change your bank details for future transactions.

You could also inform your payment partners yourself. To do this, fill out the letter to notify your payment partners (new tab) and send it to them. You could also request the termination of your bank account with your previous bank by filling out the form and sending it to them.

All German licensed banks are required to offer a bank account switching service as part or §21 ZKG (Zahlungskontengesetz). To initiate this service, please download and print the account switching form (new tab) and send it to:

Once we’ve received your request, we’ll process it within 7 business days. Your payment partners may need additional time to change your bank details for future transactions.

We charge a fee of up to €20 for this service, depending on your individual request.
