How does 3D Secure work?

3D Secure protects you from online card fraud. When you make an online card payment for which 3D Secure authentification is required, you will be asked to confirm your payment in your app. Simply:

1. Login to the N26 app.
2. In the home screen (the transaction feed), tap the bell icon.
3. Confirm the push notification.
4. Go back to the merchant’s website where you should see a confirmation of your successful payment within a few seconds.

Please note: 

• The push notification will only be sent to the smartphone that is paired to your N26 account.
• Not all online card payments require confirmation via 3D Secure.
• If you don’t see your pending payment in the app, here are some troubleshooting tips for you.
• 3D Secure is automatically activated when you activate your card in the app. No additional passwords are required.
