Upfront Payments for Premium membership plans
Your membership contract is valid for one year, after which it automatically renews for an indefinite period until you cancel it—this can be done at any time (see below). We’ll notify you 2 months before your contract is due to be renewed indefinitely.
Which billing options are available to me?
You can choose to pay for your annual membership fee on a monthly basis, or pre-pay multiple months (e.g. 6 or 12 months) to receive a discount. This doesn’t affect the length of your annual contract.
For example, if you choose to prepay 6 months at a time, you’ll make one payment for the first 6 months of your yearly contract when your membership begins, and a second payment in 6 month’s time for the second half of your yearly contract.
How and when can I pay?
Your membership will become active and you’ll receive full access to your premium benefits only after you pay the first membership fee. You can choose to pay your first fee by using a debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Wallet, which will give you instant access to your premium features right after you’ve verified your identity. Alternatively, you can choose to top up your account balance, and we'll automatically deduct the first membership fee from your account.
If we haven’t received your payment for the first membership fee (i.e., your first monthly fee or your first prepayment) within the first 15 days after you’ve proved your identity, we’ll deduct this fee automatically from your N26 account at that time and grant you access to your premium benefits. After this, your membership fee will be automatically deducted from your N26 account according to the billing option you’ve selected.
How can I cancel my N26 membership?
You can stop the automatic renewal of your membership at any time before the end of the first 12-month contract by contacting us via support chat. If you choose to stop your renewal, you can continue to use your N26 Mastercard and all your premium membership benefits until your membership expires. That means you’ll keep your insurance coverage (for N26 You and N26 Metal) for as long as you’re still required to pay your membership fee.
You can immediately cancel your membership at any time by contacting us. If you choose this option, your N26 Smart, N26 You and N26 Metal premium N26 Mastercard will be deactivated and we will issue you a virtual card upon downgrading to N26 Standard. If you choose this option with N26 You or N26 Metal, your insurance coverage will also cease immediately.
Revoke: You can revoke your membership within the 14-day period, which starts as soon as the first fee is charged. We will deactivate your premium N26 Mastercard and issue you a virtual card for use with an N26 Standard account.
Can I get a refund?
If you cancel your membership within the 14-days revocation period using our support chat, we’ll fully refund your initial fee. If you cancel a prepaid membership after the 14-days revocation period, you’ll receive a refund for any remaining months that have been prepaid.
However, if you originally prepaid at a discounted price, you’ll receive a refund for any remaining months as if you were subject to the full payment price. You will only get the discount if you stay subscribed through the full period of your prepayment
