How to cancel your plan

Within 14 days of purchase

As a N26 customer, you can exercise your 14-day revocation right directly via the new in-app Withdrawal button, located under My account > Legal documents > Withdraw from contract. This is a mandatory, one-click, frictionless mechanism required by EU Directive 2023/2673. The button is available in the mobile app only.

After 14 days

You can cancel your plan at any time after the 14-day withdrawal period. This cancellation has a 30-day notice period.

  1. Go to User Settings > Mobile > N26 SIM.
  2. Within the N26 mobile plan tap the settings icon on the top right corner.
  3. Tap Cancel Plan.

Your plan details screen will update to show the cancellation is pending. Here's what happens next:

  • To stop a cancellation: If you change your mind, you can stop the cancellation at any time before the plan's end date. The option “Keep my plan" will appear on your main N26 SIM mobile plan screen.
  • Plan usage: You can continue to use your plan until the final end date.
  • Your number: Your phone number will be reserved for 90 days after your plan ends. This allows you to purchase a new plan and keep your number.
  • Billing: The first and last months of your service are charged pro rata. You will receive your final invoice on the 1st of the month after your plan ends, with the final fee charged on the 5th.

Billing

You'll receive your invoice in Messages from N26 on the 1st of each month. Fees are charged to your N26 account around the 5th of each month for the previous month.

Billing only begins once your phone number has been successfully ported to N26 or you have chosen a new N26 number.

To find your invoices in the app:

  1. Go to your N26 SIM mobile plan screen.
  2. Tap on Settings in the top right corner.
  3. Find and select the "Invoices" section.

To request a detailed, line-by-line itemized usage report, ask for a specialist in the support chat.

Proof of ownership

The only proof of ownership we can provide for your N26 SIM plan is your monthly invoice.

Closing your N26 account

Your N26 SIM plan is linked to your N26 bank account. You cannot keep the SIM plan if you close your N26 bank account.

  1. Cancel N26 SIM first: You must cancel your N26 SIM plan before you can close your bank account.
  2. Notice period: The plan remains active for the 30-day notice period.
  3. Final payment: You will be billed for the final cycle on your normal billing date (invoice on the 1st, charge on the 5th).
  4. Account closure: Once the final N26 SIM payment is processed and the plan has ended, you can proceed with closing your N26 bank account.
