How to get, install, and transfer Your N26 Travel eSIM

Install your eSIM

This section covers how to install your eSIM if you skipped the initial setup or if you're moving to a new phone.

How to install later (if you skipped)

If you skipped the installation during your first purchase, you can install your Travel eSIM at any time.

  1. Go to User Settings (your initials) > Mobile > N26 SIM.
  2. Tap the Install button and follow the on-screen steps.

eSIM installation fails

You must have a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or other cellular data) to install the eSIM. If it fails, please check the following:

  • Device Lock: Ensure your device is "carrier unlocked." On iOS, you can check this in Settings > General > About. It should say "No SIM restrictions".
  • eSIM Limit: Check that you have not reached the maximum number of eSIMs your phone can store (this varies by manufacturer).

Troubleshooting eSIM Installation Issues

  • Ensure your device is eSIM compatible.
  • Verify your device is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or cellular data.
  • Check your device’s carrier unlock status.
  • Confirm your device hasn’t reached the maximum number of installed eSIMs.
  • If two SIMs are already active, disable one before installing the N26 eSIM.

Move your eSIM to a new device

You can move your eSIM to a new device (both iOS and Android) using the self-service process in the app.

  1. Log in to the N26 app on your new phone.
  2. Go to User Settings (your initials) > Mobile > N26 SIM.
  3. The app will automatically detect your new device and enable the Install button.
  4. Tap Install. This action will remove the eSIM from your old device.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Phone is lost or stolen

If your device is lost or stolen, you should lock it remotely to protect your information.

For iPhone (iOS):

  1. Access Apple's "Find My iPhone" feature.
  2. You can Mark the phone as lost, which locks it and makes it unusable.
  3. You can also choose to Erase the device to wipe all your data.

For Android:

  1. Access Android's "Find My Device" feature.
  2. You can Lock the phone and sign out of your Google account.
  3. You can also choose to Erase the device remotely.

This navigation path might vary between different Android versions and phone models, so please check with your phone's manufacturer.

Temporarily block your N26 eSIM

We do not offer a specific "blocking" feature. If you wish to temporarily disable your N26 Travel eSIM, you can turn it off in your phone's settings.

  • IOS: Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Select the Travel eSIM and toggle off "Turn on this Line".
  • Android: Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager and toggle the switch beside the Travel eSIM off.
