How to protect your N26 account
Keeping your N26 account secure starts with your password. If you think your login has been compromised — or that someone is trying to start a chat on your behalf — change your N26 password immediately.
To change it, open the N26 app and go to My Account > Security > Change login Password. Choose a secure password (new tab) and don't share your login details with anyone. You and only you should have access to your login credentials. For more advice on keeping your identity safe, see how to protect your identity (new tab).
What to do if your account is compromised
If you believe your account has been compromised or tampered with, ask for a specialist in the support chat. (new tab)
If you don't have access to your N26 app or can't log in on web, call us at +44 2035 107126 or +49 303 6428 6881 (both lines in English) to block your card or account.
What to do if your device has malware or a virus
Viruses and malware are a common risk for anyone using a computer or smartphone. When your device is infected, attackers can record every keystroke — capturing your username, password, account balance, email messages, and more.
If you use an infected device to access your N26 account, attackers can get your login credentials or personal information and use it against you later. Resetting your password on the infected device won't help, because the new password is recorded by the attacker too.
What to do if you suspect malware or a virus on your device
1. Run malware detection software on the affected device immediately.
2. Update your antivirus to the latest version.
3. Keep your operating system up to date — OS updates often include security fixes.
