What is the maximum I can spend?

The maximum amount you can spend with your N26 account depends on the type of transaction and the limits you set. Below you’ll find an overview of the different limits that apply to your payment solutions.

  • Daily limit: €30,000 (applies alongside the monthly limit)
  • Monthly limit: €80,000

How to adjust my card limits?

  • In the home tab, select Cards
  • Select the card whose limits you want to change
  • Tap on Limits

Reminder

Some ATM providers may charge independent fees which we can’t reject or reverse. The ATM should display the fee before you complete the withdrawal. More information can be found here.

Cash26

Available only for accounts opened in Spain, Germany, and Austria.

  • The Cash26 withdrawal limit is €200 per transaction, and you can withdraw up to €900 in any 24-hour period. There’s no minimum amount for Cash26 withdrawals.
  • The minimum Cash26 deposit is €50 per transaction, and you can deposit up to €999 in a 24-hour period.
  • There also is a combined limit for withdrawals and deposits of 999€ per 24 hour.

Outgoing transfers

SEPA standard transfers

  • Incoming SEPA transfers: No limit
  • Outgoing SEPA transfers: No limit

SEPA Instant transfers

You can set your own limit for outgoing SEPA Instant transfers. This limit can be set as either a daily limit or a per-transaction limit (not both). The default limit is €10,000 per day, but you can adjust this at any time in the N26 app.

  • Default limit: €10,000 per day (can be changed by you)
  • How it works: Your chosen limit applies to SEPA Instant transfers and instant standing orders, MoneyBeam, and Bizum.
  • Joint accounts: Limits are set per customer. Each account holder can send up to their own limit.
  • Internal transfers:
  • Transfers between your own N26 accounts, internal Spaces or Instant Savings accounts, are not subject to these limits.
  • Transfers to other customer Spaces are subject to your chosen limit.

After October 6, 2025, only your self-defined limit will apply to SEPA Instant transfers.

Bizum and MoneyBeam

  • Bizum: Maximum of €500 per transaction, €2,000 per day, and €5,000 per month. These limits cannot be changed in the N26 app.
  • MoneyBeam: Maximum of €5,000 per 24 hours and per transaction. This limit cannot be changed.

How to set your transfer limits

You can set or update your SEPA Instant transfer limit at any time in the N26 app.

  • Tap on your initials in the top right corner.
  • Scroll down to Settings and select Instant transfer limits.
  • Choose whether you’d like to set a Daily Instant Transfer Limit or a Per Instant Transfer Limit.
  • You can also adjust your instant limit while making an instant transaction. If you’ve reached your current limit, you’ll be able to update it directly from the transaction screen. Otherwise, your transfer won’t go through until you’ve increased it.

Important

N26 will never ask you to raise your limit in order to complete a transaction. If you receive such a request, it may be a scam.

Example

If your N26 instant payment limit is set to €1,000 per day:

  • You can send any combination of SEPA Instant, Bizum, and MoneyBeam payments up to a total of €1,000 in a 24-hour period.
  • If you try to send a €1,500 Bizum payment, it will be blocked—even if Bizum’s own limit is higher—because your N26 limit is lower.
