How to activate my card?
Once you receive your N26 Mastercard in the mail, you’ll have to activate it before you can use it to make payments. Activating the card takes only two simple steps—just make sure you’ve paired your smartphone to your account (new tab) beforehand.
To activate your card on the N26 app, from the Home screen:
- Go to the Cards tab
- Swipe until you see the card you want to activate
- Tap Cards settings and Activate
- Make an ATM withdrawal at your local ATM network
To activate your card on the WebApp (new tab), just select Activate card from the Home screen.
You’ll need to follow these activation steps any time you order a new card (new tab), such as if your card is lost, stolen, damaged, or you upgrade to N26 Smart (new tab), N26 You (new tab), or N26 Metal (new tab).
If you have several cards of the exact same kind—for example, if delivery was delayed and you received more than one card—you can only activate the most recent one. All the older cards will be disabled when you order a new one. This does not apply to the additional cards (new tab) that are available with premium accounts.
If you live in Spain, France, Ireland, Greece, Finland or Estonia, you’ll need to go to an ATM to activate your card. You won’t be able to start making payments using card readers until you complete an ATM transaction first.
