How to receive social security payments to my N26 account?

We are a collaborating entity with the Spanish Social Security system, which means that you can collect your benefits on your N26 account, and in case you are self-employed, pay your own contribution. You can also pay the Social Security contribution of your household employees.

Please contact your local Social Security service either online (new tab) or in person and follow the instructions that apply locally.

How long does it take to receive Social Security payments through my N26 account?

  • Once you have selected your N26 account to receive your benefits from Social Security we will deposit the benefit as soon as we receive the payment from the authorities every month. 
  • Note that the authorities pay out different benefits on different dates, and sometimes there are delays in payments from the authorities due to weekends or holidays.
  • If you believe a payment is overdue, please be patient, or you should contact your local authority.  

I use a different bank account for receiving / paying social security benefits / taxes - how do I switch it to my N26 account?

  • For family benefits, IMV or pension from Social Security or SEPE: Go to your current bank and tell them that you wish to receive your benefit on another bank account. They should then take care of the necessary arrangements. You can also initiate this process via the Social Security website (new tab), or in person at one of the Social Security offices.
  • For other payments from Social Security or SEPE: Go to the SEPE or Social Security electronic office and change your personal details. You can also go to the SEPE or the Social Security office in person if you prefer.

Turn on the notifications to not miss any payments

Remember to enable notifications in your N26 app from your smartphone's settings. We will always notify you a few days before you receive any scheduled payments on your account, so you can make sure you have sufficient funds to pay them.
