Open and manage your child’s N26 for under 18s card and Space
Create a dedicated Space and card for your child with N26 for under 18s
You can create a dedicated Space for your child (aged 7–17) within your N26 account, with a card linked directly to it. Your child can use this card to make purchases in stores, online, or withdraw cash at ATMs — but only spend the money available in that Space. While they gain hands-on experience using money in everyday situations, you remain in full control, overseeing the Space and guiding their child every step of the way. It’s a secure, simple way to introduce financial independence while keeping safety and support front and center.
What do I need to get started with N26 for under 18s?
- Child’s age: Your child must be 7–17 years old at the time of opening the Space.
- Documents needed: Your child’s birth certificate.
- Parent: You must be an existing N26 customer. The name on your N26 account must match the name on the child’s birth certificate.
Set up an N26 for under 18s Space
- In the N26 mobile app: Go to Home or the Finance tab and select the option to add your child’s Space.
- Enter your child’s details
- Upload their birth certificate: We’ll automatically check the details you provide against the uploaded document. If everything matches, your child’s Space will be created. If not, you’ll be notified and can request a manual review.
- Order the card: Once your child’s Space is set up, you can order a card for them.

- Restricted purchases: Purchases at merchants selling alcohol, tobacco, gambling, or age-restricted content are automatically blocked.
- Monitor activity: Receive real-time notifications for all transactions, and view spending details.
- App access: Only parents can use the N26 app. Children don't have app access.
- Limits: Default daily card payment limit is €200 (max €1,000). ATM withdrawal limits vary by country.
