How to get, install, and transfer Your N26 eSIM
How to install your eSIM
This section covers how to install your eSIM if you skipped the initial setup or if you're moving to a new phone.
If you encounter issues during installation, ensure your device is unlocked and supports eSIM. The N26 SIM cannot be activated using a QR code; please follow the in-app instructions. If installation fails, restart your device and try again. If the problem persists, reset your network settings and check for software updates.
Troubleshooting installation issues:
- Stable Connection: Verify your device is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or cellular data. A stable connection is essential for successful activation.
- Active SIMs Check: If you had two eSIMs or physical SIMs already active when you encountered an installation error, please try disabling the already active SIMs before attempting installation again.
- eSIM Limit: Confirm that your device has not reached the maximum allowed limit of installed eSIMs supported by the manufacturer.
How to install later (if you skipped)
If you skipped the installation during purchase, you can install your eSIM at any time.
- Go to User Settings (your initials) > Mobile > N26 SIM.
- Tap the Install button and follow the on-screen steps.
How to move your eSIM to a new device
You can move your eSIM to a new device (both iOS and Android) using the self-service process in the app.
- Log in to the N26 app on your new phone.
- Go to User Settings (your initials) > Mobile > N26 SIM.
- The app will automatically detect your new device and enable the Install button.
- Tap Install. This action will remove the eSIM from your old device.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Phone is lost or stolen
If your device is lost or stolen, you should lock it remotely to protect your information.
For iPhone (iOS):
You can access Apple's feature: Find My iPhone. Here, you can:
- Mark the phone as lost (this locks it, making the device completely unusable for a third party. If you get your phone back, you can undo this action from the same link).
- Erase the device to wipe all data (this cannot be undone).
For Android:
You can use Android's feature: Find My Device:
- Lock the phone and sign out of your Google account (this makes the device completely unusable for a third party. If you get your phone back, you can undo this action from the same link).
- Erase the device remotely (this cannot be undone).
This navigation path might vary between different Android versions and phone models. Please check with the manufacturer.
Temporarily blocking my N26 SIM
We don't offer a specific "blocking" feature for the eSIM. If you wish to temporarily disable your N26 SIM, you can turn it off in your phone's settings. Note that you'll continue to be charged for the service.
- iOS: Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Select the N26 SIM and toggle off "Turn on this Line".
Android: Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager and toggle the switch beside N26 SIM off.
