Suspension of the CASH26 offer in Italy, FAQs

Starting from 22 December 2022, CASH26 will no longer be available to customers residing in Italy. Below, you will find a series of frequently asked questions relating to the service and its suspension.

Why is the service being suspended

We're no longer able to offer CASH26 service because of the decision of Grenke Bank AG, our business partner who provides this service, to cease its operations in Italy starting from December 22, 2022.

When will the service resume?

We're working hard to offer you an alternative solution as soon as possible, but we're not yet able to provide you with exact dates. Remember that in the meantime you'll still be able to make withdrawals using any ATM and top up your N26 account via bank transfer, istant bank transfer, debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, or other top up solutions that may be offered to you by third parties.

Is there another way to top up my account?

You have several options to top up your N26 account: via bank transfer, istant bank transfer, debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, or other top up solutions that may be offered to you by third parties.

Why are you updating your Terms and Conditions?

Since we're no longer able to offer CASH26 because of the decision of Grenke Bank AG to cease its operations in Italy, we have to update your account terms and conditions to reflect this change. The offer regarding the additional services included in your account remains unchanged.

Will you grant me a reimbursement / discount on the account now that the Cash26 feature is not available?

You're not paying a fixed fee for using CASH26, but only the one related to the deposit service. Therefore, the interruption of the service as of December 22 does not result in price adjustments related to your account.

I don't need the account anymore now that Cash26 is not available, how can I close it?

We're sorry to hear that you want to close your N26 account. If you don't have an Italian IBAN, we kindly ask you to make your account balance €0. Afterwards, log into the app N26 using this link (new tab) and follow the instructions. If you have an Italian IBAN or you're unable to log into your N26 account, please email support@n26.com from your registered email address with this cancellation form (new tab) attached.

Why you are only informing us now about the switch off of the service?

We're sorry for any incovenience this may cause you, but it's unfortunately beyond our control. CASH26 interruption is due to Grenke Bank AG's decision to cease its operations in Italy. We've notified you as soon as we received this update from Grenke Bank AG in order to give you as much notice as possible.

The communication you sent me mentions a "partial termination of the contract", are you closing my account? / Are there additional services that you are switching off?

Since we're no longer able to offer CASH26 because of the decision of Grenke Bank AG to cease its operations in Italy, we have to update the terms and conditions of your bank account to reflect this update. The offer regarding the additional services included in your current bank account remains unchanged.
