How do I enable Push Notifications?

We send you push messages to finalize transfers (with MoneyBeam, for example). If you aren’t receiving these messages, first check that notifications are enabled for both your phone and the application. If this does not fix the issue, try some of our troubleshooting suggestions, depending on your smartphone:

iOS:

  1. Unpair your device ("My Account"→"Settings"→"Security"→"Unpair phone").

  2. Uninstall the application.

  3. Force restart.

    1. iPhone 7 and earlier: Hold the Home button and Power button until the Apple logo appears.

    2. iPhone 7 and 7+: Hold Volume button and Power button.

    3. iPhone 8 and later: Press down and quickly release the Volume Up button, then press down and quickly release the Volume Down button. Now press and hold the side Power button and continue holding until you see the Apple logo, then release.

  4. Reinstall the application.

  5. Re-pair the device/application. Click for more information on this step.

  6. If you are still not receiving push notifications, please check that notifications are enabled in the settings.

    1. "iPhone Settings"→"Notifications"→"N26"→"Allow notifications".

Android:

  1. Unpair your device ("My account"→"Settings"→"Security"→"Unpair phone").

  2. Uninstall the application.

  3. Turn off your device for 2 minutes to clear background data.

  4. Turn your device on again and reinstall the application.

  5. Re-pair your device with the application. Click here for more information on this step.

  6. If you are still not receiving notifications, please check the following things:

    1. Google Play Services are up to date.

    2. Notifications have been enabled in the applications manager as well as in your device's settings.

    3. Do-Not-Disturb mode and Power-Save mode are not activated.

    4. In "Energy Settings", the N26 application is not set to "Optimized".

    5. Your device has 100MB of free storage.

    6. On some Android devices, changing key security settings or powering the phone off completely may cause an automatic unpairing. If this has happened, please repeat the pairing process.
